Abdullah Snobar

Abdullah Snobar is the Executive Director of the DMZ and the Chief Executive Officer of DMZ Ventures. He is responsible for the strategic direction and continued growth of both organizations.

Under his leadership, the DMZ built a presence for Canadian startups to grow in NYC and was ranked as the number one tech incubator-accelerator in the world by UBI Global. In May 2020, Abdullah was appointed CEO of DMZ Ventures (DMZV), the for-profit arm of the DMZ dedicated to scaling high-growth startups and supporting them with seed capital investments.  DMZV is headquartered in Toronto with operations in Calgary, Mumbai and Ho Chi Minh City.

Abdullah previously held roles at the Canadian Armed Forces, Fairmont Hotels, Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Toronto Metropolitan University’s Ted Rogers School of Management and was a co-founder of a non-profit foundation in Kenya focusing on women and youth. He regularly appears in major media outlets and was recognized as Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 in 2018.

He currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC), is a founding member of the U.S. – Canada Innovation Partnership and is a member of the Forbes Tech Council. He holds a BComm and an MBA from Toronto Metropolitan University.
