Phillip Gales

Phillip is a serial entrepreneur living and working in Toronto. Originally from Lancaster, UK, he holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Master’s in Engineering from the University of Cambridge, where his graduation thesis focused on the application of machine learning algorithms to financial portfolio optimization.

Phillip specializes in Operations, Data and Metrics at growth startups. The first company he founded, an oil and gas data analytics company, was funded by Y-Combinator (W15). He has taken startups such as ChefHero from pre-seed to Series B, raised $12 million from international VCs, and launched B2B marketplaces in Kitchener-Waterloo, Toronto, and Chicago. Phillip currently runs inate.ai, a company that uses Artificial Intelligence to automate VC due diligence. He is also an entrepreneur-in-residence at WE ScaleUp.
